Bhunna Qeema ( ground beef curry)


Today on menu for dinner is bhunaa keema(ground beef curry),moong daal kitchra(rice and yellow lentil pilaf) and raita (thin yogurt sauce) !!!

Right now I'm sharing the qeema recipe ,rest will be posted soon inshallah!!!

Bhunaa qeema (ground beef curry)


2 pd ground beef (ground chicken or lamb can also be used)

3 small onions thinly sliced

5 garlic cloves crushed

1 tsp ginger finally chopped

1 tsp coriander powder

1 1/2 tsp chilli powder

1/8 tsp turmeric powder

1/2 tsp ground cumin powder

1/2 tsp garam masala powder


3 small tomatoes chopped

Salt to taste

Oil 2 tbsp

1 bunch cilantro

3 to 4 green chillies


Heat oil in a wok on a medium heat and add onions,


Fry onions for 5 mins or until onion turn golden brown

Now add ginger & garlic shredded or finally chopped , I used fresh shredded garlic and ginger made right before cooking using my zester.

Cook onion ,garlic and ginger on medium high heat until you can smell garlic and ginger being carefully not to burn the masala for 2 to 3 minutes

Now add all your powdered spices except garam masala

Add salt to taste

Cook it for 2 to 3 minutes until oil separates from the masala or onion mixture

Add tomatoes and 1 roughly chopped green chilli to it and cook until tomatoes are tender and mix into onion mixture



Now add qeema or ground beef to onion and cook for 6 to 8 minutes

Add 1/4 tsp garam masala,1/4 bunch of chopped cilantro and 2 green chillies to it and cook for 4 mins

Now cook on low heat for 10 mins and then take out in a dish and garnish it with rest of chopped cilantro and enjoy it with moong ki daal kitchra(rice and lentil pilaf) recipe coming soon!!




P.s for less spicy use less green chillies and chilli powder

I had cherry tomatoes from my garden so used them whole .
