Daal pakoras ( lentil fritters)

Assalamo alaikum ,Today I sharing with you guys one of my favorite Ramadan foods .let me tell you about Ramadan a little bit it's a pillar of Islam , We Muslim fast 30 day in this 9th luner month of Islamic calendar,during fasting you cannot eat from dawn to sunset it basically make us understand the suffering of poor person who does eat.This creates humility and we are encouraged to give charity to help the needy.That was little bit about Ramadan now let get back to our recipe so this is one of my favorites when I open my fast during Ramadan and we can also enjoy daal pakoras(lentil fritter) all year round.Now lets get to the ingredients and recipe
Ingredients:
1/2 cupYellow lentils (moong daal)

1/2 cup orange lentils(masoor daal)
Soak daals for 1 or 2 hr in warm water and drain them before adding to food processor

1/2 tsp Zeera(cumin seeds)



1/4 tsp ajwain(carom seeds)

1/4tsp or to taste crushed chilli flakes
2 small onion sliced thinly
1/2 bunch cilantro chopped
2 to 3 green chillies finally chopped

4 Garlic cloves
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying
Recipe:
Heat oil in a wok on a low flame,in a chopper, or food processor chop soaked daals, crushed chilli pepper, zeera(cumin seeds), ajwain ( carom seeds)and garlic clove.Chop daals a little coarse and remember don't add any water when chopping .
when done chopping take this mixture out in medium sized bowl now add to this onion , cilantro , green chillies and salt .


Mix well Check the oil by adding a little mixture to it if it turns brown right away your oil is to hot let the oil cool down a bit.Now a tbsp full or I prefer using my hand drop medium sized fritter in the wok fry on low medium heat until golden brown on both sides.
transfer them on paper towel lined plate or a strainer so excess oil can be drained.
Enjoy your pakoras with green chutney (recipe at the end)

All spices and lentils used in this recipe are easily available in South Asian stores
Green chutney recipe(sorry no images )
1Bunch of cilantro2
green chillies or to taste
3 cloves garlic
1/4tsp zeera (cumin seeds)
1/4 cup water
1/2 lemon juice
Salt to taste
Blend all the ingredients in blender until smooth paste form add a little more water if hard to blend.Enjoy!!!
