Shrimp Masala ( prawns in thick onion gravy)

Assalamo alaikum,

We are big fan of seafood,specially shrimps my family including me would rarely give away a chance of having shrimp!! I think most of you would agree with me that seafood specially shrimp cooked anyway comes out delicious.Today the recipe I'm sharing with you is desi style cooked shrimp is kind of like stew it'ssimple yet delicious dish comprising of very less amount of ingredient .we enjoyed it with my homemade chapatis but it can be enjoyed with rice also.

Shrimp masala

Ingredients:

Cooked shrimp 2pds

Onion 4 medium thinly sliced

Oil 2 tbsp

Salt to taste

Red chilli powder 1 1/2 tsp

Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp

Green chillies 2 -3 large ones

Garlic and ginger paste 1 tbsp combined

Water 1/2 cup

 

Direction:

Completely defrost frozen shrimp under cold running water, leave it in the strainer so all the liquid is out.

 

Now in a wok or karahi heat oil and add sliced onion frying on medium high heat until it's transparent .

 

Now add ginger garlic paste and sauté until fragrant.

Add red chilli powder, turmeric ,salt and whole green chillies and fry for 4-5 mins medium high heat

It time to add water and bring the curry to boil

Now lower down the heat and cover the wok so spices and onions can cook down and form thick gravy

After 10 mins or until your gravy is thickened add shrimp and fry on high until complete mix you don't want to over cook shrimp cause it become tough .

 

Serve hot with hot chapatis or steam rice and enjoy!!
